Switching from Guesty for Hosts to Guesty Lite

If you’ve decided to switch from Guesty for Hosts to Guesty Lite, you will need to first register for a Guesty Lite account and then close your Guesty for Hosts account. As part of the process, you will be required to disconnect your Airbnb account from Guesty for Hosts. You will then be able to connect it to Guesty Lite.

Tip:

Once you have four or more listings, have started managing listings on behalf of owners, or simply think the Guesty Pro package is a better fit for your business, you can schedule a demo for a first-hand look at our Pro platform with one of our product experts.

When switching to Guesty Lite, you will not be able to copy account records and any automations you have set up, so be prepared to set up all your settings from scratch. Complete the following steps or watch our video to make the switch as smooth as possible.

Important:

  • If you have created a booking website through Guesty for Hosts, it will be deactivated in this process. You can create a new website in your Guesty Lite account.
  • If your current integration involves the "Vrbo Upgraded Connection," it's important to understand that upon transitioning to Guesty Lite, the Vrbo integration will mirror the features of the "Vrbo Standard Connection." A detailed comparison between the connection types can be found here.
  • Guesty Lite does not support the legacy Smart Locks solution available in Guesty for Hosts, only Guesty Locks Manager.

Step 1: Prepare for the switch

  1. Create a Guesty Lite account with the same email you’re using on Guesty for Hosts. You don’t need to purchase a Guesty Lite subscription at this point. Once you have registered for Guesty Lite, you’ll see a pop-up asking you to connect your Airbnb account. We will perform this step later in this process, as your Airbnb account is still linked to Guesty for Hosts.
  2. In your Guesty for Hosts account:
    1. If you are using Guesty Locks Manager, disconnect your locks from the properties then contact us with the names of the providers you would like to connect again in Guesty Lite.
    2. Export your past reservations data. You will not be able to import this into Guesty Lite, so if you want to have this for your records, export it now. Once you connect your listings to Guesty Lite, only future reservations will sync.
    3. Create  an income report for your records.
    4. Review any additional information you have in Guesty for Hosts that you wish to copy down for your records, as you will lose access to this once the account is closed.
  3. Disconnect your Guesty account from Airbnb:
    1. Sign into your Airbnb account.
    2. Go to your Account Settings
    3. Select Privacy & Sharing
    4. Under “Connected Apps”, click or tap Remove Access for Guesty for Hosts.
  4. If your listings are also published to Vrbo, contact Vrbo and request to disconnect Guesty as your Connectivity Provider.

Step 2: Set up your Guesty Lite account

  1. Sign into your Guesty Lite account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Distribution and select Airbnb from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click Connect Airbnb account and listings and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your Airbnb account and listings with Guesty Lite. Click here for more information.
  4. If you have a Booking.com account, connect it and link your listings as well.
  5. Are your listings on additional channels? Use the iCal link to import external calendars to your Guesty calendar to avoid double-bookings.
  6. Connect your marketplace partners to your new Guesty Lite account.
  7. Create message automations and copy over the content and sending conditions you had in your Guesty for Hosts messaging automation. You will need to replicate these manually in your Guesty Lite account.
