Approving or Declining a Vrbo Booking Request (Quote and Hold)

Important:

This content is relevant for the Vrbo Upgraded Connection. If you are on the Standard Connection, see articles here. If you are not sure which connection you are on, see here.

When a listing published to Vrbo is set to non-instant booking, booking requests - called "Quote and Hold" in Vrbo - will be received in Guesty For Hosts in the multi-calendar.
  • You'll receive a notification from Vrbo when a Quote and Hold is made.
  • The Quote and Hold will be distinguished from a reservation in the Guesty For Hosts multi-calendar as shown below.
    • Reservation = solid color block
    • Quote and Hold = white block with outline and exclamation point
When you click on the Quote and Hold, the reservation details pop-up will include a time notification and Decline or Approve buttons, as shown here:
You have 42 hours to accept or decline a reservation. After 42 hours, the reservation is canceled automatically. Follow the instructions below.
Vrbo charges a tiered partner fee when the host is responsible for a cancellation. Additional actions, such as a temporary listing suspension, may also be imposed. Exceptions to this policy can be made for cancellations outside the partner’s control. Thus, we recommend using instant bookings for your Vrbo listings.

You can change a listing’s booking policy after it is connected to Vrbo. The update syncs to Vrbo within 24 hours.

Approve or decline a Quote and Hold

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty For Hosts account.
  2. From the top menu, click Calendar.
  3. Click the relevant reservation.
  4. In the reservation details pop-up, click Approve or Decline.
  • If approved: the reservation will appear as other reservations in the multi-calendar and elsewhere in the Guesty For Hosts platform.
  • If declined: the booking request will be removed from Guesty For Hosts.
