Linking Multiple Listings to Prevent Double Bookings

If you have multiple listings that overlap, you can link their calendars on Guesty For Hosts to create a "family" hierarchy and prevent double bookings.

For example: Listing 1 is an entire home, and Listing 2 is a room inside that home. You want to link their calendars and identify Listing 1 as the "parent" and Listing 2 as the "child". If a reservation is made for Listing 2, the calendar for Listing 1 is automatically blocked, and vice versa.

Limitations

Only reservations are synced for linked listings. Listing settings, like preparation time or booking window, are not synced.

Only reservations will automatically block a linked listing's calendar. If you manually block dates in the calendar for a listing, the calendar for any linked listings will remain open.

If you manually open dates for a listing, and a linked listing has a reservation during these dates, a pop-up warning will appear. If you click "continue" to open the dates, this can result in a double booking

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty For Hosts account.
  2. In the top menu, click Menu.
  3. Click My Listings.
  4. Click the first relevant listing.
  5. Scroll down to “Linked Calendars” and click Link calendars.
  6. Click the tickbox for this listing's type:
    1. An entire home that contains other listings, OR
    2. A room inside another listing
  7. Click Next.
  8. Select the listing to link.
  9. Click Save.

Once linked, the child listing displays indented and below the parent listing under My Listings.

If you need to add another child listing, simply follow the steps above, selecting the listing type as "a room inside another listing".

Important:

If you link a listing from another group, the child listing will be moved to the parent listing's group. For more information on listing groups, see this article.
