Note:
You are not required to activate credit card processing in order to use Guesty For Hosts as your channel manager. If your property in Booking.com is eligible for Payments by Booking.com or you want to handle credit cards manually, you can opt out of using this feature.
- Guesty For Hosts has partnered with Stripe to store and charge credit cards.
- In order to use the credit card data coming from Booking.com, you need to have a Stripe account.
- It is suggested to open a Stripe account before starting the integration between Booking.com and Guesty For Hosts.
- If you do not have a Stripe account yet, you can create a Stripe account easily.
Follow the steps below to set up you Stripe account in Guesty For Hosts.
Tip:
You can add and use different Stripe accounts for multiple Booking.com properties as needed.
Link Your Stripe Account
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty For Hosts account.
- In the top menu, click Menu.
- Under "Channel manager", click Booking.com.
- Click Stripe Accounts.
- Click Add New Stripe Account.
- If you are unable to complete this process, click here for more information.
- Follow the prompts in Stripe to connect an existing account or create a new one.
- Enter a nickname for the Stripe account in Guesty For Hosts.
- Repeat as needed for additional Stripe accounts.
Link Stripe Account to Property
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty For Hosts account.
- In the top menu, click Menu.
- Under "Channel manager", click Booking.com.
- Click Rates & Payments.
- To the right of the relevant property, click Update & Payment Settings.
- To the right of "Stripe Account", click the down arrow.
- Click the relevant Stripe account.
- Click Select.
Set Guest Payment Option in Booking.com
In Booking.com, make sure that the guest payment option under Policies is set to collect credit cards following Booking.com instructions here. If it is set to "cash only", the payment will not go through.
Managing Payments
- When you get a new reservation from Booking.com, Guesty For Hosts creates a customer in your Stripe account.
- Once the credit card details are stored in your own Stripe account, you are able to charge the customer according to your Booking.com payment and cancellation policies.
- Alternatively, you can set up auto charge rules to have Guesty For Hosts charge your guests automatically.
Note:
Guesty For Hosts never has access to your guest's credit card details. However, if you do not add a Stripe account to your property or select the Payments by Booking.com option, Guesty For Hosts will not be able to store your guest's credit card information in any way.
