In addition to scheduling automated messages triggered by events, such as a new reservation or check-out, Guesty For Hosts offers the flexibility of sending a one-time message. See details and best practices below:

Send from the Messaging section. Best for:

Sending a one-time message to multiple guests at once.
- For example: communicate with recently confirmed reservations for one listing, or with upcoming check-outs for all listings.
- Send a one-time message to one guest via connected channel platform.

Send from the multi-calendar. Best for:
- Sending a message to one guest.
- Using the Guesty For Hosts mobile app to send an SMS or WhatsApp message directly from your phone number and text back-and-forth with the guest.
Important:
If you are on the Vrbo upgraded connection, tags are not supported for message templates when sending from the multi-calendar, only when sending from the messaging section.
Send a Message From the Messaging Section
Step by step:
- Sign in to Guesty For Hosts.
- Click Messaging.
- Click Send One-Time Message.
- Complete each of the sections detailed below.
- Click Confirm and Send.
Message Type
- Select the message type to send:
- Platform message (for Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com)
- Email (sent from your email address selected)
- SMS text message (sent from a generic number)
- Using the mobile app only:
- SMS text message (sent from your number)
- WhatsApp message (sent from your number)
Guests
- Create the filters for guest selection:
- Reservation type: Upcoming check-ins, Upcoming checkouts, Currently staying reservations, Recently confirmed reservations or Recent checkouts.
- Listings: Select all listings, or select one or multiple listings from the dropdown menu.
- Select all reservations, or select one or more from the list that appears based on the filters used.
Template
- Select a message template to use, or click Write New Message at the top.
Preview and Send
- See a preview of the composed message as it will appear to the guest before clicking Confirm and Send.
Receiving Messages and Replying to Guest
- Platform message: Messages sent via connected channel platform can be found and replied to in the Unified Inbox.
- Email: Responses from the guest will be sent to the email address that was selected when the message was created. You can reply from the email inbox.
- SMS text message (sent from a generic number): A guest reply will be forwarded to your account's primary email address.

Using the mobile app only:
- SMS or WhatsApp text message sent from your number: The message is sent from your messaging app. You will see a guest reply and can message back-and-forth in the text or WhatsApp thread.
Send a Message From the Multi-Calendar
Tip:
If you want to send a one-time message to a guest via connected channel platform, follow the steps above to send a message from the Messaging Section and select the relevant reservation.
Step by step:
- Sign in to Guesty For Hosts.
- Click Calendar.
- Click on the relevant reservation.
- In the "Reservation Detail" pop-up, click the message type to send:
- Email (sent from the email address selected before sending)
- Using the mobile app only:
- SMS text message (sent from your number)
- WhatsApp message (sent from your number)
- Select a message template, or scroll down to the bottom and click Add New Template.
- If you added a new template, select it from the list after creating.
- Click Send.
- For SMS and WhatsApp, your messaging app will open. Press send from your app.
Receiving Messages and Replying to Guests
- Email: Responses from the guest will be sent to the email address that was selected when the message was created. You can reply from the email inbox, using a message template or free form text.
Important:
If you are on the Vrbo upgraded connection, tags are not supported for message templates when replying from the inbox. You can either select a template and enter the relevant fields (e.g. guest first name) manually, or type a freeform message to send.
