Getting Started by Connecting to Airbnb

The first step in using Guesty For Hosts is to connect your Airbnb account and import your listings. Don't have an Airbnb account yet? No problem! Click here to create an account affiliated with Guesty For Hosts.

Before You Begin

  • Disconnect previous channel manager

If you were already using a channel manager, it must be disconnected from Airbnb before you connect to Guesty For Hosts. To disconnect your previous software, follow these instructions from Airbnb.

  • Disconnect calendar links in Airbnb

If you have an ical link in your listings in Airbnb that is still connected after you've synced Airbnb to Guesty For Hosts, this may create calendar availability discrepancies. See more information here.

  • Check your Airbnb pricing and availability model

You must be on Airbnb's Standard pricing and availability model to import your listings. Learn more.

  • Maintain an active connection

Maintaining an active connection in Guesty For Hosts to an Airbnb account is required in order to sync real-time data with Airbnb and any other connected channels.


1. Connect Your Airbnb Account and Import Listings


You have the option to import your listings at a later time, but keep in mind that at least one listing import must be completed to be able to use all the features in Guesty For Hosts.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty For Hosts account.
  2. Click Connect your Airbnb account.
  3. In the pop-up, check the tickbox to accept the Airbnb terms of service, then click Allow.
  4. Upon connection to your account we'll provide a list of your Airbnb listings. Select the ones to import.
  5. Click Import your listings.
    • Allow a few minutes for this process. 
      • You can exit the flow without interrupting the process. To check on the status later, navigate to Menu > Airbnb > Listings.
    • The status of each listing will change from "Waiting" to "Importing" to "Done".
    • If a listing status shows "Failed", click Retry.
      • If after retrying three times a listing status is still showing as "Failed", please contact us.
  6. Once the import process has finished for at least one listing, click Great, let's Continue.
  7. Review changes to your listing settings and make updates as needed.


Your setup will be completed as long as at least one listing imports. If you still have a failed listing you can retry to import at a later time.

If a Listing Is Unable to Be Imported

If your Airbnb listing is unable to be imported it will appear in a section titled "We couldn't import the listing(s)".  This can happen if your listing is not completely set up in Airbnb, for example: missing title, address or photos. 
  1. In Airbnb, complete the listing set up.
  2. In Guesty For Hosts, navigate to Menu > Airbnb > Listings.
  3. Follow the steps in the above section to select to import the listing.

2. Activate Guest Email Address in Airbnb

In order for the guest email address to be sent from Airbnb to Guesty For Hosts with a reservation, you must allow this in Airbnb. Having the email in Guesty For Hosts allows you to send automated and one-time messages directly to the guest.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Airbnb account.
  2. Click Account.
  3. Navigate to Professional Hosting tools.
  4. Toggle on Allow me to email documents to guests to receive guest emails.
